Black Creatives Circle of North Louisiana presents

“Feel It”

by Viana Fabian

The unknown excites me as I sit in my lowest position on the floor allowing the Holy Spirit to direct what my hands are about to pull out of the bag of paints. Acrylic is my first medium. I am a widow of three years. Don't cry tears for me. I am a 55 year old, happy, US based artist right out of Monroe Louisiana. My faith-based paintings, VISIONS FROM HIM are connected to my second medium of Spoken Word.

I know you are thinking about this. Why does Viana like to make art?  Well I must tell you that I like to make art because it is about the time and of the time. After the consumption of life, I need to release and the relief comes when I regurgitate on the canvas. In this, my first solo art exhibition, FEEL IT, I used a sponge, a pallet knife, a baking utensil, my hands and fingers to complete this collection of work. Without trying or focusing, faces have become more and more prominent in my paintings. Now you will find that in my art there's a sensual sense of taste, love and patience. I'm fulfilling my purpose. To answer the question of why is my art important to me? My art is important to me because it's time that I spend with God praying and worshiping him.
